The Women on Top audience participates in a meditative experience with the ATMA app executive
Although women occupy 38% of leadership positions in Brazil, according to data from the Global Women in Business 2022 report, in the last quarter of last year, for example, men occupied more than 60% of management positions, according to a survey conducted by FGV. Gender inequalities in the labor market are still a challenge to overcome. Therefore, the third edition of the women on topwhich took place last Saturday (6), led to important reflections on the current corporate scenario, as well as encouraging discussion on how to effectively seek gender equality in leadership positions, without forgetting to raise fundamental factors such as well-being.
Considered the largest meeting of business and entrepreneurial leaders in Latin America, the 2023 edition of Women on Top promoted an audience meeting with more than 30 female leaders on the stage of the CEO Forum, with the support of the meditation application ATMA and an unprecedented experience for the public: a meditative, live experience led by Clarissa Guariniello, specialist in Neuroscience and Head of Innovation and New Business.
In a chat with journalist Ana Paula Padrão, one of the creators of the Women on Top event, Clarissa shared details of her journey as an executive at meditation app ATMA, a tech company focused on wellbeing, mental health and self-knowledge. During the conversation, she highlighted the need to anticipate behavioral trends and prioritize people care, one of the key pillars of the 2023 edition of the event. Clarissa also spoke of meditation as a tool to reduce stress and she was concerned about putting the speech into practice when she proposed a meditation exercise focused on awareness and breathing.
“We know that women suffer from depression and anxiety more than men. Factors such as role overload and sexism are linked to these rates and, in this context, meditation can be an excellent tool, because according to several scientific studies, the brain is transformed, establishing better connections, increasing concentration and attention, as well as regulating the amygdala, responsible for our ‘fight and flight’ responses and directly linked to anxiety and fear,” Clarissa stressed.

The ATMA app, in partnership with Mangalam Wellnes, also provided a meditation-focused space so that anyone at the event could enjoy a brief moment of self-care and self-knowledge. The activation featured headsets and meditation chairs so that the audience could experience a meditative exercise for about three minutes.
