Santos won a concern for the next match of the Brazilian championship. In Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Bahia, striker Stiven Mendoza felt discomfort in his right thigh and had to be replaced in the first half, in Vila Belmiro.
The Colombian, author of the double for Peixe, was replaced by Lucas Braga in the 33rd minute of the first phase. He left the field on a stretcher and was applauded by the fans.
Now, Mendoza will be re-evaluated this Thursday to find out the severity of the injury. It is worth mentioning that the striker recently recovered from a moderate hamstring muscle injury in his left thigh.
Santos will be back on the pitch next Sunday, at 4pm (Brasilia time), away from home, against Vasco, for the sixth round of the Brasileirão.
