Luan reveals the conversation before the match and praises the collaboration with Murilo at Palmeiras: “He’s a brother”

Birthday of the evening, the defender scored Verdão’s fourth goal

Palmeiras defeated Grêmio 4-1 on Wednesday night (10), at the Allianz Parque, for the fifth round of the Brazilian championship, and are the new leader of the competition. In the mixed zone after the match, the defender Luan, celebrated of the day and author of the fourth goal for Verdão, spoke of a message received from Murilo, revealing the partnership between the two even with the dispute for the role. Luan was part of Abel Ferreira’s team precisely because of Murilo’s injury.

– I could take my cell phone and show the message that Murilo sent me before the match. You would understand the meaning of something here that can’t be explained. He (Murilo) asked me to score a goal, a guy we both competed for position. This pretty much sums up what Palmeiras is today. Life is like that, sport is like that, sometimes one gets injured and the others have their chances. It was like that with him – said Luan.

The defender also declared that he is rooting for his teammate whom he considers his ‘brother’, and reiterated that he will take advantage of the opportunity given by doing his best to help the Alviverde team.

– I got injured after the World Cup, he had the opportunity and his sequence was absurd. He arrived and played great games for Palmeiras. I support a lot, he is a brother, a friend, and this is football. Sometimes one person’s misfortune is another’s opportunity, I’m having my chance and I hope to do my best to always help Palmeiras,” he concluded.
