The narrative of Love Alarm begins by introducing us to the young Kim Jo-jo (Kim So-hyun), a girl forced to work every day in her aunt’s (Park Sung-yeon) shop to pay off a debt left by her mother. . Meanwhile, heir Hwang Sun-oh (Song Kang) returns from overseas and is transferred to the same school as Jo-jo: a place where everyone is eager to fire up their Love Alarm apps and find out if Sun-oh is in love with any of the girls.
Of all the possible suitors, Sun-oh notices that only one girl (Jo-jo) has no interest in him and, therefore, is intrigued by her. However, she discovers that her best friend Lee Hye-yeong (Jung Ga-ram) took an interest in her first, but he doesn’t want to give up on her girlfriend. Then, a love triangle is established in search of Jo-jo’s heart.
Other stories also attract attention, as the narrative of the drama develops. Among these, it is possible to highlight the toxic relationship between the families of Jo-jo (who exploits and belittles her) and Sun-oh (whose narcissistic mother does not know how to show love and is constantly in conflict with her son).
