A fan confuses this Marvel actor with a villain from ‘Toy Story’, the legendary Disney movie: “But if ‘Toy Story’ is cartoon…”

Will Poulter, who has just released ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’, spoke about this event and took the opportunity to reflect on the impact of networks and bullying.

Being mistaken (really) for a cartoon is not something that happens every day. In fact, it’s pretty shocking if you spend a couple of seconds thinking about it. If not, tell them Will Poulter, who was asked by a fan if he was Sid, the mythical villain of ‘Toy Story’Disney animated film.

Although it seems impossible, this was recently reported by the actor, in an interview with the GQ magazine. Poulter, who has just released ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’, the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, spoke about having felt judged by his physical appearance on numerous occasions, which had led him to situations as surreal as the one reported .

A guy in a public restroom in Los Angeles last week turned to me and said, ‘You’re the one from ‘Toy Story,’ aren’t you?’ I was like: ‘But if ‘Toy Story’ is a cartoon…'” Poulter commented.

I do not want to be rude. And I liked a meme that is circulating about me, disguised as Sid from ‘Toy Story’, (admittedly, I myself have not helped in this case). But, ‘Toy Story’ came out in 1995 and I was two years old. They weren’t doing live-action that I know of.”

As the actor pointed out, he himself dressed up as the bully from ‘Toy Story’ in 2017 and shared photos of his costume through his twitter account. On that occasion, Poulter did it in collaboration with the Anti-Bullying organization, and asked his fans for support and donations.

“It is funny… when things go viral on the internet, all context is lost and a different one is created in a matter of hours,” he went on to say. “Another thing that went viral was a picture of me in ‘We’re the Millers,’ compared to one in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ There are literally 10 years between one photo and another, but people don’t even realize it.”

“Someone said to me in a bar a couple of days ago, ‘Oh, you’ve improved a lot. Congratulations.’ It’s hard not to take it as: ‘You’ve been ugly for most of your life, but now you’re getting a little better!’

The actor stated that it was difficult not to understand it as a “poisoned compliment”, especially in reference to his physical change in recent years.

It was very strange when people started discussing my physical appearance on-linedeciding whether or not he was attractive,“shared.”I am very comfortable and secure knowing that I am not conventionally attractive.as I’ve always gotten comments about looking unusual — because of my eyebrows or whatever.”

“I think this just speaks to an even bigger issue: Why are we talking and spending so much time commenting on the bodies of others? Especially in the case of women. But, one way or another, why is there so much focus on it? Unfortunately, social networks have created problematic idea that everyone’s opinion, on any subject, is valid,Poulter concluded.
