Elle Fanning lost a role, in a big Hollywood franchise, because of her Instagram profile

Elle Fanning is no stranger to big Hollywood productions. The actress has been part of films such as ‘Maleficent’ for Disney (she got into the skin of Aurora in the original tape and, later, in its sequel), or ‘Rainy day in New York’, under the direction of Woody Allen .

However, on his way through the podcast, ‘Happy Sad Confused‘on the occasion of the promotion of the new season of his Hulu series, ‘The Great’, heThe actress commented that she had been rejected for a role in a major franchiseand that the explanation they had given him was, to say the least, shocking.

They asked the actress if she felt pressure to be part of the big Hollywood franchises. Is this necessary to keep a performer’s career afloat? After this, the young woman commented: “I don’t feel that pressure. I don’t.“

However, Fanning did not forget how positive it is to join franchises of the likes of Marvel, ‘Star Wars’ or DC, and recognized that this did “do something” with the careers of other interpreters. “But you never know if they’re going to work either… It’s scary,” he added, speaking of these films.

The actress confirmed that she had done the casting for one of these great franchises. However, when her selection process did not go ahead, she was told that her reason was that her social media profiles were not powerful enough.

“I did a test for… Well, I’m not going to say what it was for, but noor they gave me the role for something big because – maybe this was not the reason, but it was what they told me – I didn’t have enough followers on Instagram at the time,” the actress recounted. “So it was a bit… “I can’t believe I didn’t get the part because of this.” It was for something big, for a franchise.”

Today, the actress accumulates a total of 6.2 million followers on Instagram. Numerous titles are added to his filmography, in which he already appeared from an early age: ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, ‘Super 8’, ‘Trumbo: The Hollywood Blacklist’ or ‘The Seduction’, by Sophia Coppola.

His co-star in ‘The Great’, Nicholas Hoult, also recently reviewed his career. Talking with Guardian, the actor acknowledged having had to turn down a role in ‘Mission Impossible 7’, after being contacted by Tom Cruise himself. The reason? His commitment to the shooting of the third season of ‘The Great’.
