Mark Pedowitz, CEO of The CW, has confirmed the news in TVLine: “I’m a big believer in trying to give shows that have had a long run a proper send off, we want to make sure it comes off in the right way.” And he added, “As a fan, I want to do what is right for the show.”

Pedowitz’s words suggest that, for the peace of mind of his legion of followers, the North American network and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, creator of the series, have made this decision with the idea of to plan and take advantage this last season to close possible plots earrings and be able to give the series a high end.
