Magnolia Pictures acquired US rights from TrustNordisk king’s landDenmark’s next epic starring Mads Mikkelsen (fantastic beastsand Amanda Colin (raised by wolves).
The project will see Mikkelsen team up again real case Directed by Nikolai Arsel in the adaptation of the Danish bestseller by Ida Jessen Captain and Ana Barbara.
In the mid-17th century, the story tells of an attempt by King Frederick V of Denmark to take over, farm and colonize an unforgiving area inhabited by wolves and roads.
Mickelsen plays Ludwig von Cullen, a military captain who has decided to tame the desert for the king. Colin will play Anne Barbara, a mysterious woman who crosses paths with Cullen and changes his fate forever. Arsel co-wrote the screenplay with Anders Thomas Jensen (knights of justice).
