If Verdão beat Bragantino, the number 7 shirt will reach an important milestone at the Allianz Parque
Dudu is already regarded as one of Palmeiras’ biggest idols, leading several Verdão stats and breaking more and more records. The next one can be reached this Saturday (13th), in the match against Bragantino, at 18:30, at the Allianz Parque, for the sixth round of the Brazilian championship.
If Alviverde beats Massa Bruta, the attacking midfielder will reach the milestone of 135 victories at the Allianz Parque and, therefore, equal the former goalkeeper Marcos as the player with the most home wins (adding up the periods at Parque Antarctica, at Palestra Italia and at the current arena ). The number 7 spoke of his happiness at having achieved another record for Verdão and reiterated his desire to continue helping Palmeiras win more titles.
– I have spoken several times about everything that Palmeiras represents in my life. Having the opportunity to reach out to another major brand like this makes me super proud and happy. Those who know me, those who live close to me, know how much I dedicate myself, every day, to strengthening myself and entering the field prepared to help the club win victories – said Dudu.
– It is a great pleasure to be able to equal another sign of Marcão, one of the great idols in the history of Palmeiras, and continue to write my story in this club that I love so much. It’s nice to remember so many unforgettable moments that I experienced at our home, in front of our fans and an extra motivation to keep improving and help Palmeiras win new titles – he concluded -.
At the Allianz Parque, which opened in November 2014, Dudu is the most decisive athlete and already leads several statistics. The midfielder made his arena debut in January 2015, and currently leads the league in players with most games (187), wins (134), goals (39, alongside Raphael Veiga) and assists (48).
Including numbers from Palmeiras’ entire home history in the tally, Dudu is behind former goalkeeper Marcos in number of games, perhaps the only record the No. 7 has yet to achieve. So far, the midfielder has 25 games left to reach the 212 played by the archer.
Since joining Verdão in 2015, Dudu has already won 11 titles with the Alviverde shirt, just missing a draw with Ademir da Guia and Junqueira to become Palmeiras’ biggest winner. The idol has already won two Copa Libertadores (2020 and 2021), three of the Brasileirão (2016, 2018 and 2022), three of the Paulista (2020, 2022 and 2023), one of the Copa do Brasil (2015), one of the Recopa Sul-Americana (2022) and one from the Brazilian Super Cup (2023).
