Guardians of the Galaxy 3 continues to lead the North American box office in its second weekend in theaters. The James Gunn feature grossed $60.5 million, up from $114 million in its opening weekend (down 49% from its first weekend), for a total of $213 million in the US and a $475 million worldwide cume. . It’s the best second weekend for a Marvel movie since Pandemic ended.
In this latest installment, a team led by Star Lord (Chris Pratt) comes together to protect the universe and protect themselves. If it fails, this mission could spell the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Super Mario Bros. It is second at the box office with an additional $13 million and nearly $536 million collected in North America alone since its release in theaters 6 weeks ago.
The Illumination studio film collected 1.2 billion dollars at the international box office. The Nintendo video game adaptation surpassed the mark of Minions ($1.15 billion) to become Illumination Studios’ biggest hit ever.
Book Club: A New ChapterThe sequel to the 2018 feature starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen is on the bottom of the podium, registering $6.5 million for its opening weekend.
In Bill Holderman’s film, four friends and their book club travel to Italy. This new chapter will be released in French cinemas on August 30.
