Currently promoting the Bardot series, director and screenwriter Daniel Thompson revisits his career in a show presented by Laurent Delahousie.Sunday at 8:30 p.m“. The latter especially noted the continuation of the adventures of Rabbi Jacob, which is planned from 2018.

In the Laurent Delahus program, Daniel Thompson returns for the first time to the release of the feature film directed by Gérard Oury in 1973 and explains: “We were very nervous when the movie came out. We knew we were walking on eggshells when we were writing, because we were setting things up. We were always on the edge. There are a lot of lines today that aren’t. Be more accepted.“

Then the presenter starts the director again and asks if it is possible to continue today. Daniel Thompson then responds:very difficult. We started working on a possible sequel, in which the children of the heroes of the first part will be.
But things are so hard and changing so fast that we no longer have the freedom we used to have. I think it’s a shame, because humor should be bursting everywhere and always, but you have to be very careful not to hurt feelings, and this is a kind of censorship that exists today..”
Although The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob drew 7.2 million viewers when it was released in theaters in October 1973, a sequel never saw the light of day.
