One of the most unexpected stories in Part 1 is the flashback to Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) and Steve Harrington (Joe Curry). First introduced as the “Bad Boy”, but having straightened out his ways, Steve and Nancy’s relationship had its ups and downs, and Steve eventually accepted that Nancy had started a relationship with Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton). However, Eleven completed its plans in 1979 when it resigned and sent it to Upside Down. This is the first time the portal has been opened in another dimension.
