SPOILER ALERT! This article outlines the content of Fast and Furious’ 10 post-gen scenes.
Get ready for a good dose of adrenaline in Fast and Furious 10, in theaters on May 17!
This time, Dominic Toretto, aka Vin Diesel, finds himself facing a foe that is as relentless as he is hilarious: Dante Reiss, played by Jason Momoa.
The latter will do everything to avenge the death of his father, drug addict Hernan Reyes, which happened at the end of Fast and Furious 5 in 2011. But Dominic Toretto is not the only one responsible for the death of Dante’s father…
These events are recalled at the beginning of Fast X to justify Dante’s thirst for revenge, but also at the end during the post-credits scene. Although the plot leaves us with Dom and his son in a bad situation, promised death, the series begins after the animated credits.
We see a hooded and armed intervention brigade entering some kind of huge theater. Their leader walks to the stage and picks up his cell phone. He answers and Dante Reiss’s voice is heard.
The criminal, still as vengeful, explains that Dominic Toretto was fine driving the car that hit his father…but another man rear-ended him and shot him. Dante then clearly threatens the hooded agent with promises of revenge, as does Dom.
This man, who is none other than the head of the intervention brigade, then removes his cap and helmet, finally revealing his face. It’s Luke Hobbs played by Dwayne Johnson! The latter angrily sprays the mobile with one hand and promises to eliminate this “bastard” Dante Reis.
Bounty hunter and diplomatic security force leader Luke Hobbs appeared in episodes 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Fast and Furious franchise. The character then had the rights to its own spin-off, Hobbs and Shaw, with Jason Statham.
After an argument between Vin Diesel and The Rock, the actor did not appear in episode 9 of the saga.
βIn June 2021, when Vin and I connected off social media, I told him directly β and personally β that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm but honest in my remarks and told him I always would be. Support the cast and that I will always encourage the success of the franchise, but there was no chance I would come back.”Dwayne Johnson said during an interview CNN.
“Vinny’s last public message was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in his message, as well as the death of Paul Walker. Leave them alone. We talked about this a few months ago. And we came to a clear agreement.”he said, criticizing Dom Toretto’s translator’s Instagram post.
“My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world is waiting for the Fast 10 finale. You know my kids call you Uncle Dwayne at home. Not a party goes by without you. You didn’t exchange vows… but the time has come. A legacy awaits you, I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo (…) I say it for love… You have to come back, don’t leave the franchise, you have a very important role to play.”Written by Vin Diesel.
The latest installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, released in July 2021, was a worldwide success, grossing more than $700 million. In France, this 9th episode attracted more than 2 million fans.
After this triumph, Vin Diesel approached Dwayne Johnson to convince him to return to the story in Fast and Furious 10 (which will be released in two parts). As mentioned above, the Jumanji star declined the invitation, preferring to devote himself to Black Adam and its spin-off sequel, Hobbs and the Show 2. It’s clear that the former wrestler has reconsidered his decision.
Are the two mirror cabinets really reconciled, or has Dwayne Johnson finally accepted Vin Diesel’s proposal after the bitter failure of Black Adam? Unless the two actors just staged this encounter to emphasize the element of surprise when Luke Hobbs appeared on screen.
In any case, if the content of the post-credits scene is to be believed, an alliance is being formed between Luke Hobbs and Dominic Toretto to defeat their sworn enemy: Dante Reyes. The latter is about to attack their loved ones and episode 11 promises to be explosive! It is even rumored that Opus 12 is in the works.
