“They just don’t understand what we do.”
John Cena will play Jakob Toretto again in ‘Fast X’, the tenth installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchisewhich hits theaters this Friday.
The franchise has been running since 2001, which means that more than two decades have passed since we first met Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, star and producer of the saga.
Before the premiere of ‘Fast X’, John Cena, who became known in the ‘WWE’, said that the longevity of the franchise reminded him of Wrestlemaniawhich has just celebrated its 39th edition.
“After having participated in the 39th installment of Wrestlemaniamy philosophy is: ‘As long as it’s good, it’s all that matters’“, commented Cena for Extra.
“‘Fast’ entertains the world, premiere after premiere, and the data backs this up.”
Dinner continued saying that those who criticize the long run of the franchise just don’t get itjust like the people who dismiss WWE as “fake”.
“Anyone who says, ‘Do we really need another one?’ He’s comparable to a fan saying, ‘Isn’t WWE wrestling fake?'”Cena explained.
“Simply They don’t understand what we do and they don’t understand what this is about. As long as the movies are exceptional (and this might be my favorite of all time), and it digs deeper into the ‘Fast’ universe…” she added.
“It’s a great ride and I think people will leave the theater wanting to see more.. If someone thinks that (even if they have the right to do so), I think they just don’t understand what we do.”
On the other hand, Vin Diesel recently revealed that ‘Fast X’ will finally be a trilogy, instead of a two-part story.
When asked about the future of his character, Dom Toretto, ahead of the film’s premiere in Rome, Diesel commented: “Without revealing too much I can say this:”
“When I started shooting this movie, the studio asked me if it could be a two-part movie.“, he began by saying.
“And after the studio had seen the first half, they said: ‘Could you make ‘Fast X’ a trilogy?’ So…”.
Diesel’s co-star, Michelle Rodriguez, then added that “Every story has three arcs.”
In addition to Cena, Diesel and Rodriguez, in ‘Fast X’ we can enjoy the performances of: Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, and Rita Morenowhich will give life to the grandmother of the Toretto family.
Jason Momoa will give life to Dante Reyes, the villain of the film that has aroused the interest of fans and who has been praised in the first reactions of the film.
‘Fast X’ will hit theaters next Friday, May 19.
