In this dark comedy that airs on Apple TV+, Patricia Arquette plays Peggy, a depressed drug addict who decides to turn her life around after the death of her beloved mother. Living alone in a small desert town in Yucca Valley while her ex-husband Danny (Matt Dillon), who is serving time in prison, is about to be released on parole, Peggy takes on a new challenge: becoming a private detective.

He follows the advice of his mentor Bruce, played by Brad Garrett, and will be supported by his only friend Carol, who is camping at Verruche Opia. But his new adventures will worry his sister Diane (Kristin Taylor), who will try to restore order to his chaotic life.

During her investigation, Peggy frequently encounters Guru Bob (Rupert Friend), a former local anchor who has become a mythical figure in the desert.
