Lula appoints ambassadors to Australia, Romania and the Netherlands to the Senate

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has forwarded to the Federal Senate, for consideration, the appointment of three diplomats to serve as Brazilian ambassadors abroad, according to messages published in the Federal Official Sheet (DOU). The following were appointed: Claudio Frederico de Matos Arruda, Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia and, cumulatively, to the Solomon Islands, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, the Republic of Vanuatu, the Republic of Fiji and the Republic of Nauru; Ricardo Guerra de Araújo, for the ambassador to Romania; and Fernando Simas Magalhães, Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
