Two men suspected of shooting Milena Ouriques Marques, 34, who is seven months pregnant, were arrested on Wednesday (17). The crime took place on April 30 in Rua João Locatelli da Silva, in the Vila Nova district, in the South Zone of Porto Alegre. Both suspects, aged 20 and 22, have criminal records. One of them was arrested on 6 May and the other on 11 May. The investigations reveal the existence of a third party involved, the driver of the vehicle, who was aware of the purpose of the attack. This individual, without a criminal record, sent a request for preventive detention to the Justice.
According to Homicide, the two men, who were inside a car, fired at least eight shots at a group of people who were in front of a house. Among the victims a pregnant woman. The suspects’ target was a man who belonged to the same criminal group as the shooters, with whom they disagreed.

He was already expecting the attack and was armed, he returned fire and shot one of the suspects in the chest. There is no more information available on this trafficker, as he has not made any statements and is on the run from another crime, as explained by the chief Thiago Carrijo, responsible for the investigation.
Milena died at the scene of the accident, while the other woman, 34 years old and identified as the sister of the man who was attacked, was shot in the chest but survived. The target remains free. The Civil Police have images showing the moment the car approaches the scene and then the sequence of events at the time of the firing.
After the attack, the suspects set fire to the vehicle used in the attack. Police have access to footage showing the two men buying bottles of alcohol, which were used to set the car on fire.
