Italian football will have 1 minute of silence for the victims of the rains

The tribute will be respected at all matches across the country

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has asked for a minute’s silence to be observed before matches in honor of the victims of the rains in Emilia-Romagna.

The action will be followed in all matches taking place in Italy starting this Thursday (18th) and throughout the weekend.

“In such a difficult moment, Italian football gathers around the affected populations and joins the condolences of the families who have lost a loved one,” said Gabriele Gravina, representative of the organisation.

The giveaways have already started in soccer in Italy even before the ball has even rolled. La Cremonese, for example, has launched a message of strength in view of the match against Bologna, in Cremona, on Saturday (8pm).

“Cremonese and Bologna will be a sporting battle, but off the field we are and must all be united in the face of tragic situations such as those that are putting Bologna and Emilia-Romagna to the test”.

Bad weather in the Italian region has resulted in at least nine deaths, with most of the deaths recorded in the Roman province of Forlì-Cesena. .
