If there is a series today that can be considered the heiress of ‘Lost’who has built a universe of suspense in which the characters have as many questions as the viewers and leave you wanting more week after week, that’s it’From’, on HBO Max.

And no, it is not the typical series that is recommended to you, you watch its first episodes and then it is cancelled, leaving you with all the unresolved questions. ‘From’ is set in an apparently normal town, if it weren’t for the fact that its inhabitants are people from all over the US who, one fine day, found a tree lying on the road, had to turn around, and ended up in this small town they can’t get out of. No matter how you try, which way you go, the road will always lead you back to town in an ominous spatial loop.. The electricity works breaking all the laws of reason and from time to time cattle appear from an indeterminate point in the forests. But it is not the only thing that the forest throws up. When the sun goes down, hordes of seemingly affable-looking creatures invade the city, savagely murdering everyone they encounter.. If you have one of the amulets that are scattered around the town houses, they will not be able to enter your home, but if you are outdoors… The only way to protect yourself from them is to hide and pray..

In case you haven’t noticed the ‘Lost’ references yet, let’s do a little recap. no spoilers. These people are not only trapped in a mysterious place from which they cannot get out, but there is also a mysterious force that threatens their lives lurking among the trees. This makes sense, considering that some of producers such as Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner also worked on ‘Lost’. As well as the protagonist Harold Perrineu, who may sound familiar to you because he is Michael Dawson himself. Do you remember when the Others took his son Walt? There are even some secret underground tunnels, as well as different hiding places, messages and symbols that really remind us of the mythical hatch from ‘Lost’.

But ‘From’ is much more than the new ‘Lost’. To begin with, it has a much more terrifying component than the series of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. And we don’t mean the horrible creatures that eat your face as soon as night falls, that too, but the city itself. Just as ‘Lost’ has the island, ‘From’ has a city that causes nightmares. There are even episodes of the show where no screen time is given to the nocturnal monsters at all; the emphasis is always on the mystery of where these people are trapped.

Is it another dimension? An experiment by some secret technological society? Are the residents trapped in some kind of black hole? Are they all dead and is it Purgatory… Or Hell itself? There are many theories about where these people are from, where the monsters come from, and how long has this city been in operation?.
