First look at the new Martin Scorsese, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, coinciding with its time at the Cannes Film Festival.
Apple TV+ just revealed The first trailer for the highly anticipated Martin Scorsese film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’the first time that the filmmaker has brought together his two most regular collaborators in a feature film of his: Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
The nearly two-minute long clip gives us our first look at stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Ernest Burkhart and Lily Gladstone as Mollie Kyle, an Osage Nation Indian woman who has inherited an oil fortune. We also see Robert De Niro as Ernest’s uncle, rancher William Hale.
The cast also includes Jesse Plemons as Tom White, a former Texas Ranger investigating the murders, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion and Tantoo Cardinal.
Based on the 2017 best-selling non-fiction book of the same name, written by David Gramthe true story featured in ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ centers on an FBI investigation into a series of murders of the Osage people that took place in Oklahoma in the early 1920s. The killings became known as “The Reign of Terror” after oil was discovered on tribal land. The book was adapted by Scorsese and Eric Roth.
The film is the sixth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio, and the tenth between the filmmaker and De Niro.. Its duration, which at first was rumored to exceed 4 hours, will finally be 3 hours and 26 minutesa little shorter than the last Scorsese film released on Netflix, ‘The Irishman’.
Killers of the Flower Moon will arrive in limited theaters on October 6 after passing through the Cannes Film Festival this week, and before its premiere on the Apple TV + platform. Its global release date will be October 20, 2023..
