After Rick Yune, Gina Carano, Joaquim de Almeida, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron and John Cena, Jason Momoa plays the new villain of the Fast & Furious saga. The bad guy role that Aquaman’s translator hasn’t had in over 10 years, and that he’d love to find.
When announcing his role in Fast & Furious X, Momoa said: “It’s fun, I’m going to play a bad guy, which I haven’t done in a long time. Now it’s up to me to be a bad guy. But a very lush bad guy. With a bit of bravado! He’s never played a character like this before, he’s evil, eccentric and androgynous, very sadistic And at the same time very funny.”
In this new opus, Jason Momoa portrays Dante Reyes, the son of Hernán Reyes, the crooked businessman he plays Joaquim de Almeida. In Fast Five, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) escape the latter’s safe from the top of a bridge in Rio de Janeiro.
Twelve years later, Dante returns for revenge. During this long period, the latter learned about Dom and his family. He knows their strengths, but above all their weaknesses, and will be able to use them to manipulate them at will.
During an interview with director Louis Leterrier, the latter told us about Dante:Jason Momoa uses the word “family” as an insult. This is not Dom’s family, this is really an insult to him. It makes him sick. As soon as he says the word “family” he vomits.”
With his colorful costumes, peacock-inspired expressions and gestures, sharp humor and strength, the character will have Dom pinned to the wall.
Jason Momoa
A really bad villain?
And unlike previous antagonists, Dante Reyes doesn’t have to join Toretto’s gang because he’s the first to tease. In the featurette, Dante compares Dom and his people to a “car cult that all the bad guys join.”
A nod to fans of the franchise who still haven’t gotten over the twist involving the Deckard show (Jason Statham), turned from a killer into a hero.
є Jason Momoa Is he the greatest villain of the saga? This is what the first viewers think.
In order to return from the past, to torment the protagonist of the franchise, Dante’s character is forced to pass the cipher (Charlize Theron) for the altar boy. The role of a psychopath that Jason Momoa relishes and it shows.
For Stephen Weintraub, editor ColliderMomoa is the best thing about Fast & Furious X: “The best part of Fast X is Jason Momoa. I loved his performance and he has the time of his life in every scene as he follows Dom and everyone. The rest of the movie is exactly what you’d expect.“

Eric Eisenberg, journalist Cinemablend, qualifies in turn as Dante’s version of the Fast & Furious Joker. “Fast X brings back the Fast & Furious series, and the #1 reason is Jason Momoa playing Dante. This is the F&F version of the Joker. He is a happy psychopath. It’s delicious. With a story that avoids the pitfalls of Fast & Furious 8 and 9, this is a win.“

In turn, journalist Kirsten Acuna compares the bad guy to Thanos. “Wildly unpredictable, Dante is akin to Thanos of the Fast franchise (love purple included). Jason Momoa looks like he had a lot of fun making this movie. One of the best villains in the franchise.”

Jason Momoa’s speech is also welcome from the French side.
#FastXLefilm Just better than the previous two! Jason Momoa is so cool as a villain, I love it! Take a tour of Fast 11! ☺️

No limit, but more reasonable than 9, #FASTX Connects scenes so absurdly it’s genius. Vin Diesel knows very well why his audience comes to see his movies. Momoa as a despicable villain, so is Kekcho. Guilty pleasure.
