Manchester United’s multiple champions, defender Phil Jones will leave the club at the end of his contract which expires this season. The only remaining field player of the victorious “Era Ferguson” announced his departure from red devils this Friday, 31 years old.
Phil Jones was signed in 2011 after excelling at Blackburn Rovers. He quickly earned a place in Manchester United’s starting lineup under Alex Ferguson. In the following season the defender was instrumental in the final leg of the 2012/13 English championship won by red devilsthe last cup lifted by the team in the competition.
In all, Phil Jones played 229 games for Manchester United and scored six goals. However, numerous injuries hampered his career. The last season the defender completed 10+ games was between 2018 and 2019.
