On the eve it became known that the 59-year-old star of the movie “The Silence of the Lambs” and winner of the “Oscar” Jodie Foster will play a leading role in the fourth season of the TV anthology “True Detective”. According to Variety, the development of new episodes started in March this year, but the premiere date is still unknown.
Foster will play the lead role of Detective Liz Danvers, who is investigating the mysterious disappearance of six people at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station along with partner Evangeline Navarro. While working on the case, law enforcement officers will face their own demons. It is also known that Foster is also working on the project behind the scenes as an executive producer.

Foster was cast in the new role after being awarded an honorary Palme d’Or at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in May last year for outstanding achievements in cinematography. The actress celebrated this event with her wife Alexandra Hedison, with whom she tied the knot in 2014. Note that for the first time in Cannes, Foster was 13 years old as an actress in the film “Taxi Driver”, which was also awarded the Palme d’Or.
