One of the scenes from the first episode of the fourth season of Stranger Things ended up having a completely unexpected resonance with a tragic event in the real world. Because of this, people in the United States started getting a warning before the episode started.
The notice says:
We shot this season of Stranger Things a year ago. But given the recent tragic firearms accident at a Texas school, viewers may find the opening scene of Episode 1 disturbing. We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence, and our hearts go out to every grieving family for a loved one.
The scene (we will try not to spoil it) shows children being violently killed in what is not a real school, nor firearms. But even so, there is a parallel between the scene itself and the latest school massacre in the United States, which took place last Tuesday (24), in Uvalde, Texas.
Salvador Rolando Ramos, 18, shot his grandmother before heading to Robb Primary School, where he locked himself in a classroom and killed 19 children, plus two teachers, before being shot down by a police patrol. This was the third deadliest school shooting in the country’s history, after Virginia Tech (2007, 32 victims) and Sandy Hook (2012, 27 victims).
As it turns out, the warning in Stranger Things 4 is US exclusive. It only appears the first time the episode is shown and we found no evidence that the Brazilians received the text.
The post-school massacre in Uvalde brings Stranger Things 4 with a US notice that first appeared on Olhar Digital.
