The president of La Liga still replies on social media to Vini Jr: ‘You are unfair’

The Brazilian was the target of racist attacks and insults in the duel with Valencia

The president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, once again used his social networks to talk about cases of racism against Vinícius Jr. The representative, who had already replied to the Brazilian saying that Vini was to blame for not having attended meetings that faced racism in Spanish football, he returned to referring to the Real Madrid striker, stating that it would be incorrect in his speech.

– Neither Spain nor La Liga are racist. You are unfair to say that. As La Liga commanders, we denounce and fight racism with all the rigidity that falls within our competence. This season there were nine cases of racism (eight against Vini). We always identify offenders and report them to the legislative bodies. It doesn’t matter that they are few, they are relentless. We cannot allow the image of a competition that is about uniting peoples to be tarnished, where more than 200 players are of black origin in 42 clubs who receive, at every turn, the respect and affection of the fans, being the racism one of the most punctual case we will eliminate – said Tebas.

In the 27th minute of the second phase, while Real lost 1-0 at the Mestalla, the Valencia fans began to offend and attack Vini with racist insults. The Brazilian identified and reported the perpetrators of the crime to referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea, who stopped play for nine minutes. At the end of the duel, however, the Brazilian got involved in a mess with Hugo Duro and hit the Valencian in the face, being sent off after review by the VAR. The video operators, on the other hand, omitted a bare choke from behind by Hugo in merengue shirt number 20, which lasted about 10 seconds before Vinicius’ shot.

This Monday morning, Real Madrid filed a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office against the case of racism, because the situation is considered a hate crime, and is awaiting investigations by the Public Prosecutor. It was the ninth stage this season that Vini has been the target of racist chanting. The other case, cited by Tebas, was aimed at the Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze, of Villarreal, in a duel against Mallorca.
