Bardot on France 2: Notice that little head on Jean-Paul Belmondo?

This Monday evening, France 2 will broadcast the last two episodes of Bardot, a biographical mini-series that revisits the life and loves of the iconic Brigitte Bardot. For the occasion, BB is played by Julia de Nunes, a young actress making her first acting debut here.

In the cast of this series written by Daniel Thompson and his son Christopher Thompson, we can also find Victor Belmondo, the grandson of the actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, who plays Roger Vadim, the first lover and first husband of Brigitte Bardot. The impact on his career because he was the one who directed and wrote And God… Made Woman, the film that makes him the myth he is today.

And if Jean-Paul Belmondo and Brigitte Bardot never met on the big screen, their paths crossed, especially when the actor passed unsuccessful tests for the film “Truth”.

If “Bebel” isn’t officially in the bardo, the writers are still happy to slide a little against her in the series. In episode 4, entitled “La Papillon”, which aired on Monday 15 May at 22:05 on France 2, Brigitte examines the CVs of potential actors who could take part in her next film Babette Go away -t-at War.

It was then that her agent Olga Horstig (played by Anne Le Nee) showed her a photo of the promising young actress, without giving her name. Looking at the portrait, Bridget says:The face, the beautiful face… a must see“, before moving on to other candidates.

A photo which is none other than a photo of a certain Jean-Paul Belmondo, who was filming Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breath” at the time. A nice tribute to two legendary actors of French cinema.
