At the end of the confrontation, also on Wednesday, Santos returns to Santiago. The cast is expected to leave the hotel for the Chilean capital’s airport at 10am Thursday, with a flight scheduled for 12pm.
Therefore, arrival at Guarulhos airport is scheduled for 16:20, with the return to Santos scheduled for 19:30. As a result, the tendency is for Peixe’s team to start preparing for the duel against Red Bull Bragantino on Friday. The clash, valid for the eighth round of the Brazilian championship, will take place on Sunday, at 18:30, in Vila Belmiro.
Santos have a list of absences, but can give young players a chance
For comparison, Santos will not have midfielders Lucas Lima and Dodi (retained), Luan Dias (not signed up at this stage of the competition), Sandry (treatment process after procedure to cure infection on face), forwards Lucas Braga (cut due to still having symptoms of the concussion suffered in the last game) and Mendoza (recovery after muscle discomfort).
On the other hand, there is the return of forward Soteldo, midfielder Ed Carlos, left-back Lucas Pires and defender Messias. All are related to the match against the Chilean team. Other newcomers who traveled with the Santos delegation are the young Weslley Patati, called up among the professionals for the first time in 2023, and Kevyson.
Finally, Peixe is in third place in Group E of the Sudamericana, with four points, the same score as his Chilean opponent, who is second. Newell’s Old Boys-ARG leads with nine, while Blooming-BOL, still without points, completes the group.
