The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) has sued Athletico-PR for the fan who imitated the monkey against Flamengo fans. The episode occurred on May 7, when the Paraná team won 2-1, in the upset, at the Arena da Baixada, for the fourth round of the Campeonato Brasileirona.
The hurricane was framed under article 243-G of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD), which provides for “the practice of a discriminatory, disdainful or abusive act, relating to prejudice due to ethnic origin, race, sex, color, age, condition of an elderly or disabled person”.
The judgment of the Body’s 3rd Disciplinary Commission will take place on 31 May, starting at 10.00. Athletico can receive a fine ranging between R$ 100 and R$ 100 thousand. according to the CBJD, points can only be lost if practiced “by a considerable number of people associated with the same sporting entity”.
