The Federal Police is serving this Tuesday in the Federal District two preventive arrest warrants in a new phase of Operation Lesa Pátria, which investigates the attacks on the headquarters of the Three Powers on January 8, the company said in a statement.
The PF said he is also serving four search and seizure warrants in the federal capital. The warrants were issued by the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
“The facts investigated constitute, in theory, the crimes of violent abolition of the democratic state of law, coup d’état, qualified damage, criminal conspiracy, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of a particularly protected asset”, informed the PF, without providing more details or revealing the names of the targets of this phase of the operation.
On January 8, supporters of Jair Bolsonaro invaded and destroyed the Planalto Palace and the National Congress and STF buildings in Brasilia.
So far, STF ministers have already voted to indict more than a thousand people suspected of involvement in the January 8 attacks, which were classified by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as an attempted coup.
