However, days before the duel, the player discovered that he would be on the bench and, in order not to get complicated, he tried to convince six teammates to commit the penalty, but none of them agreed. According to the publication, Romário had already received R$10,000 from the criminal organization for carrying out the infraction. If all went well, he would receive another R $ 140,000 later. As the bets had already been placed, he was instructed by Lopez to find another castmate to commit the penalty.

Gabriel Domingos de Moura, known as Domingos, also from Vila Nova, was one of the players wanted by another player, identified as VY. In the messages he says that he will carry out the offense instead of Romário. In testimony, however, he states that Romário asked him to say that he would have taken the penalty, but who would have actually committed it was another player, Formiga, who now plays for Ceará. The day before departure, however, Domingos tells VY that he won’t do anything.

Domingos also tells Lopez, leader of the schemes, that Formiga knew nothing of the negotiation. “Formiga doesn’t want to do that, if I don’t explain what Romário has done he almost gets into a fight with me. Romário is just headbutting him, he just hangs himself. Formiga has nothing to do with That.”

Lopez then shares the messages he exchanged with Romário with Domingos, in a threatening tone.
