Netflix: Only one week left to catch the movie that cost the platform $450 million!

For the past few years, Netflix has been betting on franchises, from Tyler Rake on the other side of the Atlantic to Lost Ball in France. But there is one that has cost the platform a hell of a lot of money. And this is for a movie that wasn’t a platform original, but a theatrical feature film!

A surprise hit in theaters in 2019, Knives Out is Rian Johnson’s police comedy starring Daniel Craig as atypical detective Benoit Blanc, who is responsible for solving a murder case.

The film, which pays homage to Agatha Christie’s novels and dusts off the genre, got Netflix interested when the director floated ideas for a sequel. The platform has acquired the rights to broadcast two planned sequels for $450 million!

The second film, Glass Onion: A Story of Surrender, is already available on the platform and has become a hit among subscribers. The third feature film is already in the process of preparation. The first investigation of the now famous Benoit Blanc

The first part follows detective Benoit Blanc’s investigation into the murder of acclaimed thriller author Harlan Thromb, who was found dead in his luxury estate on the evening of his 85th birthday. A sharp-witted and good-natured detective hired by an anonymous sponsor to solve the case realizes that the Harlan family is hiding many secrets.

Between family members who tear each other apart and co-workers who remain loyal to Harlan, Blanc is drawn into the meanderings of a busy investigation, mixing lies and false leads, where twists and turns follow each other at a ferocious pace until the last minute.

Knives Out can also count on a four-star cast to accompany Daniel Craig on screen: Anna de Armas, Christopher Plummer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Chris Evans, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Riki Lindhomme, Jaden Martel, Katherine Langford and Lakeith Stanfield .
