After 9 seasons, The Flash bows this Wednesday, May 24th on The CW. And in this epic final episode, which also marks the end of the Arrowverse, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) had to face Cobalt Blue, the last great villain in the DC Comics series.

In addition to offering a fitting conclusion to The Flash characters, this episode also brought back many familiar faces, much to the delight of fans.

Cobalt Blue brings the bad boys to life

Thanks to the power of negative speed, Eddie Towne (Rick Cosnett) managed to revive four great villains from Barry’s past: Savitar, Zoom (Teddy Sears), Godspeed (Karan Oberoi) and Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

A payoff that doesn’t bother Team Flash at all, who are very quick to defeat them. Each member of the team actually fights one of the villains from the previous seasons.

Cecil (Danielle Nicolette) goes up against the Godspeesd, XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy) manages to defeat Savitar, and Allegra (Kayla Cherry Compton) takes care of the Reverse-Flash. After defeating the latter, Team Flash realizes the true reason Cobalt Blue revived them. He managed to absorb the speed of the defeated villains.

Unfortunately, Eddie’s plan brings about his own downfall due to an overdose of superspeed. To avoid this unfortunate outcome, Barry joins the Negative Speed ​​Force to fight Cobalt Blue.

Following Khion’s advice, Barry stops Cobalt Blue from carrying out his plan. Avoiding the fight, the superhero manages to end the conflict with the forces of negative speed. By convincing Eddie Towne to retain his role as the Avatar, Barry managed to strike a balance between the two powers of speed.

Despite Barry’s best efforts, Eddie Towne isn’t quite ready to put his grudges aside. If she says she’s happy their fight is over, she still blames Barry for stealing her life. Before leaving, he promises the superhero that they won’t always get along, hinting that there will always be a rivalry with Barry Allen.

Caitlin Snow is back

Eddie Tune isn’t the only character getting a second chance in this final episode. After the battle with Cobalt Blue, Chione ascends to the highest level of existence and becomes a goddess. Leaving Earth, he allows Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) to regain control of his body. Dr. Caitlin Snow may resume her place on Team Flash.

Birth and betrothal

This final episode is also Nora’s long-awaited birth scene. An emotional moment followed by a marriage proposal. While they celebrate this birthday, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) actually asks for Cecile’s hand in marriage, which she accepts without hesitation.

Legacy of the Flash

In the final moments of the episode, Barry Allen reveals that he has decided to share his connection to the Speed ​​Force with three other people. In an effort to create a better world, he selects individuals to become new speedsters.

He chooses Avery Ho (played by Piper Kurda), who Team Flash met in Season 8 when she played Bart Allen’s potential love interest, Max Mercury (Trevor Carroll), who was hinted at in Season 8, and Jess Chambers (Hannah Destiny Huggins). ), a new Arrowverse character.
