Alocine: It’s been two years since you joined the family Tomorrow belongs to us. What is your assessment after coming to the series?
Charlotte Gaccio: Pretty positive assessment at the moment. I’m always happy to be there and I’m very interested in what they have to play. So, so far, I’m very happy. I still love this Rusel family very much. We are a family in which things are quite realistic and I appreciate that. I think this is a simple family in which simple things happen.
Rusel’s family was quickly accepted by the audience. What do you think attracts the public to this family so much?
Perhaps this simple side exactly. This is the family side of real life. When I meet the community in life or on social networks, I have many single women who are struggling with their children, who identify with this family. We were also lucky that the meeting between our actors was obvious. Immediately there was complicity and friendship. And on that, you can’t lie. We were very lucky to run into each other and it just happened. It was a casting chance that was really good (laughs).
It’s a big week for Audrey as her wedding is on Friday. How did you feel when you heard that Damien (Adrian Robbie) and Audrey got married?
I was very happy because this is what we wanted for a long time with Adrien. In December, when we had an aborted marriage proposal with Audrey leaking, we told ourselves “Shame on you” (laughs). It was Adrienne who sent me the screenshot: “That’s it, I will marry youAnd when he saw the end of the scene, he said to me:Oh, no(laughs).
So even though it was very clever on the level of the authors, we were a little disappointed that it didn’t happen. Then we hardly thought about it. After all, there are a lot of couples who live happily ever after and never get officially announced. Finally, we are forced to take this course and think it looks great.
It’s actually pretty rare to have a wedding every day. I think there must be something to cross such a course…
Yes! It’s entertaining. And then the last wedding ended quite badly, we were glad to bring some lightness (laughs).
How was the filming of the ceremony?
There was something almost close to a real wedding in the sense that all the characters were especially beautiful that day and happy to be there. It was festive in a very good place. We were all happy and we had to live like that.
Which dress will Audrey choose?
You didn’t see any dresses at the fittings anyway. It’s different, but I won’t spoil it (laughs).
What can you tell us about what awaits the audience at this wedding? Will we have the right to surprises?
We stick to something simple, like the Russell family. It’s really more about feelings than anything else. We are in a very beautiful place decorated by the children who fought to organize this wedding.
After Audrey and Damien’s wedding, what will be the next step for this couple? Are they considering having a baby, for example?
Honestly, I hope not (laughs). He already has four children with Audrey. We are not on Families XXL (laughs). I think it would be nice if they didn’t really have one. There was the whole thing about Damien who could end up being the donor for Sara (Camille Genau) and Roxanne (Raphael Volkoff). But since she did not want to have children, she thought it strange to do so. I like that he is attached to it. Audrey’s children are grown and should not. At least it’s not planned yet.
Viewers want to know more about the Russell family. Do you know if the writers plan to bring in Jordan’s dad or the twins soon?
It’s not in the pipeline yet. But I think it’s one of those things that will happen one day. But I have never seen anything like it before.
Will we see other members of the Roussel family soon, like Audrey’s parents or Damien’s parents?
At least we won’t see them at the wedding. It is not focused on those guests. But something is brewing in Damien and his family’s past. True, at the moment we see this character only in the police station and in Rusel’s family. So we will learn more about his past in the coming months.
Audrey recently lost her best friend. With the loss of Alma (Camilla de PacisAudrey doesn’t really have a friendly relationship anymore. Can she befriend another character in the series?
I miss Camille not being there for Charlotte and Alma Audrey. I want to go in that direction and have Audrey have another boyfriend or girlfriends. I still don’t know who the candidates are (laughs). Aside from Spoon or his family, we don’t really see him with any other characters.
Before she became a waitress at Spoon, Audrey was a beautician. Will he stay permanently at the bar, or could he have a new professional project instead?
I would like to. What was funny about the character description was that she was a girl who had multiple jobs and was a bit of a jerk. So far, there is no question. At the same time, I’m very good at it, so I don’t mind.
Especially since we really like the exchange between slaves (Catherine Benguig) and Audrey…
Catherine is very strong in comedy. It is very nice to share scenes with him. What I love about Spoon is that we manage to make it a place of lightness and humor. Hector Langevin is also super fun and we manage to do some cool stuff together. This is a team that works well.
What’s in store for Audrey in the coming weeks?
There isn’t much arch about Audrey. It just so happens that I shot Season 7 of Sam over three months, so we had to adjust the schedule and scripts. I’m not much into the next intrigue show, but I’ll be back (laughs).
