After two weeks of competition, the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival concluded with its closing ceremony and the much-awaited awards ceremony. Jury chairman Ruben Ostlund, last year’s winner of the Palme d’Or without a filter, Julia Ducournau, Brie Larsson, Rungano Nyon, Meriam Touzani, Paul Dano, Denis Menochet, Atiq Rahim and Damian Zifron, came out. Verdict and Rewards Anatomy of a Fall by Justin Triet.

His young visually impaired son attends the instruction, a true dissection of the couple created by the parents before the tragedy.
Jane Fonda’s humorous shoot
Before Ruben Östlund announced the winner, Jane Fonda was on stage to present the Palme d’Or with a prophetic speech welcoming the “historic edition” featuring seven directors: “For the first time, seven directors in the competition. This is historic. Let’s not question ourselves for a single day”.
“It’s exciting to be back @Festival_CannesWhere I first came in 1963, no women competed at that time.

The American actor and activist first looked around at Cannes in 1963 and feels he has come a long way: “There were no women involved at the time, but we didn’t notice anything. We didn’t think anything was wrong. We’ve made a lot of progress since then. But there’s still a way to go. Celebrate change when it happens. It happens.”.
How pleasant was his surprise when he heard the name of Justin Triet for the Palme d’Or! The French director then took Jane Fonda by the hand before accepting the award and delivered a powerful and committed speech about the crisis in cinema and the historic wave of protests that France has gone through.

He then thanked the jury for awarding him, but during that time a funny (but sneaky) moment happened. You may not have seen it, but Jane Fonda didn’t have time to present Justin Triet with the Palme d’Or. Quickly, he listened to his little voice and tossed the parchment straight to the French director, who took the paper backwards before David Thion of Films Pelléas, who produced the film, picked it up, put it down and gave it to him. him.

This closing moment has already made the rounds on social media and is clearly the subject of humorous comments, as the sequence is unexpected, but also very spontaneous, on Jane Fonda’s part.
