‘Succession’ has just released its last episode just a few hours ago and fans can only wonder: Has the world of Waystar Royco finally ended?
The television and film scene is full of spin-offs and prequels, and HBO is no stranger to this with examples such as ‘Game of Thrones’, which already has ‘House of the Dragon’ and several more on the way. Will the network, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, push creator Jesse Armstrong and the crew to make new plots and episodes?
Speaking to Deadlineone of the HBO executives, Francesca Orsi, admitted that “there were some conversations” about spin offsbut It has been decided that it is best to end things here, at least for now.
“I’ll never say never, but Based on my gut feeling, and a series of conversations about the evolution of ‘Succession’ and its characters, at this point, there is no intention to evolve any of them”he affirmed.
“Should Jesse do a series again, I think it will be totally original. Whether it will be based on something similar or not I’m not sure, but it will be a new series, a totally new idea.”
“I’m kind of sorry that I don’t have the opportunity to build something with it,” he continued, “at least not for now.”
“I’m not sure what he’s going to do next, and I’m looking forward to sitting down with him after the writers’ strike and seeing what he’d like to do.. He is an original creator and I have no doubt that he is going to impress us and excite us once again with something at some point.”
For those who still haven’t been able to enjoy the finale, they only have one episode of ‘Succession’ left, but, luckily, it’s a full-length episode, taking the time to send off the Roys properly.
