Spoilers below for fear of the walking deadThe penultimate episode of the seventh season, so beware if you haven’t seen it yet!
Time fear of the walking deadAMC’s latest episode on AMC didn’t exactly end with a ride into the sunset, its final moments did it metaphorically, with Alycia Debnam-Carey’s Alicia Clark heading out in search of potential fans after everyone else. . the protagonists leave on rubber boats. In a way, it was an act of self-sacrifice, because it largely remained it is not clear why he had not yet rolled over after the bite of the walker , and the actress confirmed after the episode aired that the performance of “Amina” was indeed Alicia’s swan song. It was quite an emotional post and one that sparked reactions from others. FTWD vets, including Debnam-Carey’s fictional mother, Kim Dickens.
Alice’s fate certainly seemed set in stone this season, all things considered, even though Kim Dickens is back fear of the walking dead she had optimistic fans that she would be there when Madison Clark returned. But Alycia Debnam-Carey’s farewell message arrives instagram confirmed that this will not be the case. Here’s how she started things:
For my dear family @feartwd, tonight marks the end of an extraordinary and life-changing journey of playing Alicia Clark. Where to start … I’ll never be able to fully express the kind of journey I’ve been on working at @feartwd for so long. It brought me a lot. It was the most extraordinary training camp as an actor where I had the opportunity to grow and learn. I have had the honor of working with so many inspiring and talented people. It has provided me with new opportunities, such as directing, and reunited me with fantastic fans who have supported me along the way.
As for the talented and inspiring people he has worked with during his seven seasons To fearKim Dickens is almost certainly at the top of the list. And it was Dickens’ comment on Debnam-Carey’s post that really nailed the reality that the horror drama’s original mother-daughter pair might not be together after all.
Here’s how Kim Dickens responded in a comment under her former co-star’s post:
What good memories! I love you, happy to have shared this journey with you. Go get them !! ♥ ️
It’s not the most complicated answer, and it’s not as full of hindsight and feeling as Alycia Debnam-Carey said, but it still hits hard. If Debnam-Carey’s words buried the hope that the two long-distant characters would see each other again, then Dickens’s words were the flowers on that grave. as much as nothing inside fear of the walking dead it seems a little certain from one point to the other: they are still mourning for john dorie jr. Guys, I would have wagered all kinds of money that Alicia and Madison had at least one more conversation before a more permanent tragedy invaded these characters’ lives.
following his alleged death in season 4 Madison was at the center of constant fan theories and confirmation that she would be returning in Season 7 (and for a series 8 regular role, no doubt) seemed fear of the walking dead He would give his fans and characters something that has been in high demand for years. In theory, there’s still a slim chance that mother and daughter could see each other again when season 8 turns around, assuming Alycia Debnam-Carey decides to return for a cameo, and also assuming Alicia lives long enough for that to happen. .
But the way the actress put it in her social media post, I can’t help but think we’re just out of luck in that respect. As Debnam-Carey said:
I was 21 when we started this crazy ride, but now at 28, after 7 years and 100 episodes, I’ve decided it’s time to move on as an actor and as a person. . As is the nature of our work, I needed to seek out new challenges, new opportunities and forge a new chapter. I have been very lucky to have been a part of something so amazing for so long, but I hope you will understand and respect my decision to expand and grow even more. I would not be here without you all and I am very grateful to you. I’ve had a lot of conversations over the years with our showrunners @goldbergian and @andrewchambliss and I think we’ve found a suitable way to end Alice’s story. It is beautiful, hopeful and elusive.
It sure already looked like Alycia Debnam-Carey was headed for an exit, even without the bite, given the actress recently joined the Hulu series Holy X , in a bit of a revamp. That said, it wasn’t clear if she was going to be missing or dead when the news broke, and I guess we now know the answer. Unless we do it? To fearwhat will you do To feargo do
