Dune 2: An updated cast, including Timothée Chalamet

It took less than a week for Dune: Part 2 to get the green light after the highly successful theatrical release of Denis Villeneuve Dunesand allowed fans of the beloved sci-fi franchise to breathe a powerful sigh of relief. We no longer had to worry that the 2021 film would never have a counterpart to complete the adaptation of author Frank Herbert’s seminal novel, and we could focus all our attention on the excitement for afterward. Fortunately, the production has made it easier with some hugely exciting casting announcements over the past few months.

Obviously there are many stars of the former. Dunes in which they will resume their roles Duna: part 2, but there are also a number of new big names that have signed up and we created this feature to show them all. It seems logical to start with the previous group, so let’s start by talking about the actor who will return to play the main role in the sequel …

Timothée Chalamet

Paul Atreides’ journey has just begun. Javier Bardem

Javier Bardem is in the same boat as Zendaya where Dunes he’s worried.He has some noteworthy scenes like Stilgar in the film, but the vast majority of them don’t make it to the end. He will change a lot with Duna: part 2As part of the film, Paul and Jessica will get used to the Fremen culture, and it’s a world where Stilgar is a leader.

José Brolin

When Denis Villeneuve’s third act arrives at the theater Dunes, audiences don’t know the fate of Josh Brolin’s Gurney Halleck. The character appears to be trying to lead the men in the fight against House Atreides’ invasion of Arrakis, but the film does not feature a definitive scene to reveal his status. As such, he might be a bit of a spoiler … but Gurney Halleck is alive and well and will be back in Duna: part 2 once again played by Brolin.

Stellan Skarsgard

Baron Vladimir Harkonnen is one of the most iconic villains in the history of the sci-fi genre, and Stellan Skarsgård does a great job playing him in Denis Villeneuve’s film. Dunes. He is not in top form at the end of the film as he recovers from Duke Leto Atreides’ last minute attack, but he is alive and well and ready to defeat Arrakis in Duna: part 2 now that his enemies have been removed from the board (or so he thinks).

She will play Princess Irulan in the highly anticipated sequel, and without giving too much away to those of you who haven’t read the book, that role could cause some controversy when the film hits theaters. The film will give Pugh and Timothée Chalamet a second chance to work together, as they both starred in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little woman.

Christopher walks

Fresh from her acclaimed performance in the AppleTV + original series BreakChristopher Walken joins the Dunes franchise, but it’s not just space-bound; he will be in charge of the entire show. In early May 2022 it was reported that Walken had signed on to play the role of Emperor Shaddam IV in Duna: part 2. Presumably, the film will delve into the relationship between the Emperor and House Harkonnen, who conspired to try to decimate House Atreides on Arrakis.
