The end of the match between Ceará and Chapecoense, this Friday, in Castelão, was marked by a moment of tension. Flyer Kaio Mendes, from the Santa Catarina team, fell on the grass after colliding with an opponent and had to be removed from the field by an ambulance.




42 minutes into the second half, Kaio Mendes collided with Willian Maranhão’s shoulder. Shortly after the collision, the Chapecoense midfielder collapsed on the lawn and called for medical attention. The ambulance entered the meadow and took the player away.

The scene worried the other players, who waved Kaio with their uniforms before the ambulance arrived. With the ball in the round, Ceará beat Chapecoense 2-0, with goals from Jean Carlos in the 30th minute of the first half and Vitor Gabriel in added time in the finals.

With the result, Ceará reached the eighth position of the Serie B of the Brazilian championship, with 16 points. Chapecoense is 16th in the standings, with nine. Vozão take on Atlético-GO in the next round on Tuesday, while the Santa Catarina side face Vila Nova.
