Spider-Man: The Next Movie With Tom Holland Teasing This Detail From The Spider-Verse?

Warning – The article below contains spoilers for Spider-Man – Across the Spider-Verse, which discusses one of its surprises. So please go on your way if you want to know anything before discovering the animated film.

Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Peter Parker’s original voice actors Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jake Johnson aren’t the only ones returning for Spider-Man – Across the Spider-Verse. There’s also Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Velez as the hero’s parents, or Mahershala Ali, who returns as Aaron Davis, his uncle.

But don’t forget Donald Glover either. The New Generation actor and singer appeared on TV wearing Spider-Man pajamas in an image taken from a season two episode of Community. It was a few months before the #donald4spiderman campaign was launched, so the actor, an unreserved fan of Spider-Man, will move to the cinema at the head of Tobey Maguire.

Donald Glover in “Community”

That, of course, didn’t work out, as the role went to Andrew Garfield in the 2012 Marc Webb reboot and was rebooted with the election of Barack Obama. That’s how Miles Morales was born in August 2011, thanks to Brian Michael Bendis and Sarah Pichel, who admitted that they were inspired by Donald Glover and the 44th president of the United States.

Today, Donald Glover makes a new cameo in Spider-Man – Across the Spider-Verse: Spider-Hero HQ as a flesh-and-blood variant of Aaron Davis, imprisoned in the guise of the Ranger, a supervillain who happens to be an uncle. In the Miles Morales comics, as well as in The New Generation. And here everything becomes fun and intriguing.

Because Donald Glover perfectly portrayed Aaron Davis in Spider-Man. Facing Peter Parker, yes, but his presence opened the door for Miles Morales to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The possibility of Across the Spider-Verse seems to bring us back to the present day, with a couple of MCU flicks in the background, which could be a real clue as to what’s to come.

Donald Glover in “Spider-Man Homecoming”

We do know this: Tom Holland will return for a fourth Spider-Man movie, Zendaya will, and Sony Pictures president Amy Pascal has said that a feature film centered around Miles Morales will see the light of day. That’s why Donald Glover’s cameo is anything but anecdotal, as it could serve as a teaser and a bridge between the whole Spider-Man and the upcoming project. but which one

Spider-Man 4, which will see the return of Miles Morales? A solo movie about the latter that won’t necessarily be an origin story so as not to repeat what was done (very well) in the animation? A mix of the two? Knowing that Across the Spider-Verse could also take place after the events of the feature film and show us what Aaron became after his transformation.

Will we be entitled to another hint (and thus another Donald Glover cameo) of Spider-Man – Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third part of the animated trilogy? Answer in April 2024.
