If Kim Cattrall makes her big return to Sex and the City with a special cameo at the end of season two and just like that… she’ll also be in her own series on Netflix at the end of the month. Samantha Jones’ former interpreter stars in the Glamorous series, which will be available on the platform on June 22.
Netflix has released the trailer for this series, created by Jordan Nardino, screenwriter of Desperate Housewives and Quantico, and promises drama, humor and brilliance! Kim Cattrall plays Madolyn Addison, a former model turned businesswoman who runs a huge cosmetics company in Manhattan.
She plans to hire Marco Mejia, a young non-binary student who knows makeup well and who shows off her talent on social media. Marco is played by Ben J. Pierce, also known as Miss Benny, is an American queer and non-binary singer, actress, and YouTuber who uses all three pronouns. We saw him in Love, Victor and American Horror Stories.
With a Devil Wears Prada vibe, colorful characters and a healthy dose of humor, Glamor should be an entertaining and refreshing tale of queer initiation. Originally, this LGBTQ-friendly series was supposed to air on The CW and star Eva Longoria behind the camera and Brooke Shields in front of the camera.
The rest of the cast for this 10-episode series includes Zane Phillips (Legacies, Fire Island), Ricardo Chavira (Desperate housewives), Ayesha Harris (Daisy Jones and Six), Michael Hsu Rosen (The Good Doctor, Tiny Pretty Things), Graham Parkhurst (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) and Jade Peyton (Dynasty).
The glamorous series will be available on June 22 on Netflix.
