The Brazilian will compete in the competition in August alongside Daniel Mola
Gustavo Russo, sponsored by Yzzy and in partnership with Beach Sports Assessoria – BSA, number 18 in the world, was called up this Tuesday by Captain Alex Mingozzi to represent Brazil at the ANOC Beach Games, the World Beach Games, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia from August 5 to 12.
This will be the first time that Russo will represent Brazil’s main squad. The athlete from the Arena Resenha, by JucaBT, in Sorocaba (SP), will play alongside Daniel Mola. Brazil will also see André Baran work with Allan Oliveira. In the women’s category Rafaella Miiller will play with Vitória Marchezini and Julia Nogueira with Sophia Chow.
“I thank Captain Mingozzi and the Brazilian Tennis Confederation for their trust in my work. I am very happy, it is a feeling that I will be able to better define after the match. It is a great pleasure to be able to wear this shirt again, the first time in professionalism a official competition, I’ve already done some training with the team, it’s a happiness that I can’t explain, I’m working hard and thank God I’m having a good season, I keep working to keep it like this. We get along well with the whole team for this competition”, enthused the 21-year-old who had his best season with titles in the BT 400 of Bal. Camboriú (SC) and BT 200 from Guarujá (SP), as well as BT 200 from Vila Velha (SP) and BT 50 from Barueri (SP).
Gustavo continues his final preparation at the Arena Resenha to follow the program. Since the 15th he has been playing the Sand Series in Brasilia (DF), and in the week of the 22nd the BT 400 in Uberlândia (MG), both with Giovanni Cariani. Next, he disputes the BT 200 of Itumbiara (GO) with Daniel Mola, starting on the 30th.
