Needless to say, Netflix has held off on releasing this Zack Snyder-directed film until the end of the year, with the slot reserved for big-budget productions. It must be said that the streaming platform allowed the director to do whatever he wanted.
What was believed to be a spin-off of Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi takes us to a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy threatened by the forces of the tyrannical regent Atticus Noble. They send a young woman with a mysterious past to find warriors on neighboring planets to help them settle there.
Snyder is not going to revolutionize the space opera genre, if the first images are to be believed, with a rather classic look, but the photography is attractive. We expected nothing less from the director of 300, Man of Steel and Army of The Dead.
Uploaded by Netflix on his website List of characters and a small presentation to better understand the world. In the cast we find Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein – as the big bad – or even Djimon Hounsou (Shazam).
Rebel Moon promises to be a particularly ambitious project that will be split into two films. Snyder will also offer two versions of each: the first can be watched with the family, while the second will be restricted to children under 16. The release of the first part on December 22 will be accompanied by a video game. Therefore, it is a titanic job that the film team has done in recent months.
