Carlos Belmonte guarantees: Tricolor will not be able to withhold disclosures in the event of a proposal from Europe
The Deliberative Council of São Paulo approved, in December last year, the club’s budget forecasts for 2023. And in the main revenue item, the negotiation of the athletes, the value of R$ 135 million was set as a target by reach. The problem is that, with the closure of the first European ‘blank’ window for the Tricolore, the ‘race’ to reach the number remained for the transfer market period which will open on July 3rd.
And, according to the words of the director of Italian football, Carlos Belmonte, the tendency is that there is no hard game on the part of the Morumbi club in terms of proposals for any proposals that come from Europe due to its main revelations.
– San Paolo, in the condition it is in, has no non-negotiable players. But obviously our desire is for the permanence of these two young players, who are fundamental and important for our squad. Let’s see how he opens the window – said Belmonte.
The San Paolo top hat referred precisely to the situations of Rodrigo Nestor and Pablo Maia, the two promises with almost definitive departures.
Galatasaray are interested in San Paolo’s young number 11 shirt. Club representatives have sought out the Morumbi club to find out how close the deal could be. They have heard that the minimum required is BRL 80 million (about 15 million euros). And that there is the maintenance of part of the federal rights.
He is not the first San Paolo player to be probed by the Turks. In February, the club rejected an offer of 3.5 million euros (about R$19.4 million) from Besikitas for left-back Welington. The proposal was treated as ‘a joke’ in the corridors of Morumbi.
According to the L! revealed, Tricolor has polls for two more of its reveals by Europeans. Midfielder Pablo Maia is wanted by English clubs, while right-back Nathan could end up in Portugal.
São Paulo even rejected a Fulham bid for Maia late last year, which fetched €8m (roughly R$43.1m). The player’s staff wanted the deal, but the Tricolore refused, optimistic of being able to reach the goal with the transfer of promises from Cotia (SP): always in double figures, at least. Or 12 million euros (about R $ 64.7 million) in the case of Pablo Maia.
There has been a lot of talk about Beraldo, but the Tricolore’s plan is to reject the attacks of the 19-year-old defender, who will get a raise in the next few days. The executives’ plan is to keep him in the squad for at least another two years. Enough time to appreciate yourself even more. And, of course, the Morumbi club manages to buy part of the federation rights that still belong to the XV de Piracicaba, where he took his first steps in football.
