‘Easy’: new series by Anna R. Costa for Movistar Plus with Natalia de Molina and Anna Castillo

First images from the shooting of ‘Easy‘ the new Movistar Plus+ original series created by Anna R.Costa, an approach to the life of four women with functional diversity who want to live together in a flat in Barceloneta. Their independence begins to collide against all the norms established for them, who behave like women looking for what they are in a world that has already decided what they are without counting on them.

“What prompted me to make ‘Fácil’ is the challenge of giving a voice to people who, for whatever reason, have a different life from the majority”, explains its director, Anna R.Costacooker next to Paco Leon of the applauded ‘Madrid burns‘. “The four protagonists are diagnosed with intellectual disability. That means leading a life without choice, others will decide for them their day to day, their learning, where they are going to live, who they can be with… and by extension, who they want to be, their desires , their ability to love and have sex. In ‘Fácil’ the voice and the point of view are theirs. It is a look that shows how ambiguous and how fragile freedom is; and the arbitrariness of many social norms, even the to the point of questioning how we got here as a society.

The series, based on the novel by Christina Morales‘easy reading‘, is starring Natalie de Molina (winner of two Goya awards for ‘Living is easy with closed eyes’ and ‘Roof and food’), Anna Castillo (winner of a Goya for ‘El Olivo’) and debutants in television fiction Anna Marchessi and the comedian and stage actress Coria Castillo. The distribution is completed with Bruna Cusi, Marti Cordero, Eloi Costa, Cesca Pinon, Clear Safe, Rock Agate, David Bages Y Albert Planamong others.

The official synopsis states that, “after a lifetime living in different centers, four women with functional diversity from Barcelona live in a sheltered apartment with views of Barceloneta. Marga, Nati, Patri and Àngel are four women looking for what they are in a world that has already decided who they are without counting on them. Their way of discovering their independence begins to collide with all the norms established for them, norms that they have to comply with in order to continue living together in the flat”.

“‘Easy’ is a series where discovering oneself becomes a problem for everyone,” they underline from the producer. “It’s a real series, punk and young”.

Co-written with Christina Ponsand codirected with Laura Jouthe filming took place, at the end of 2021, in very representative locations of Barcelona such as Barceloneta beach, Rambla Cataluña, El Raval or the Montjuic cable car.
