Unihertz launches 8849 TANK 2 for adventurers with rugged body, powerful flashlight set, built-in searchlight and large battery at low price
A hertz it may not be the most well-known manufacturer of all, but the brand is looking for different ways to attract public attention. And their latest attempt is a rugged smartphone with a low price tag, a huge battery, and a built-in projector.

The new Unihertz 8849 TANK 2 arrives with a rugged drop-proof, waterproof and dustproof body, offering high durability in extreme temperatures, operating normally between -55°C and 70°C.
Another differential is present on the back cover. The model features an ideal lighting set for camping, offering dimmable modes including distress call, high, medium and pulsing brightness, and others.
In the same region, Unihertz places a pair of blue and red lights for even more alertness in dangerous situations.
Another notable feature of the TANK 2 is its built-in projector. The specs, however, are straightforward, as the model offers 40 Lumen brightness, HD resolution (1280x720p) and 80,000:1 contrast.
With its focus on being a camping phone, the feature should be able to provide good entertainment for spending the night watching a movie under the stars.
Another great feature of the smartphone is its gigantic 15,500mAh battery with 66W fast charging, offering up to 320 hours of music playback, 35 hours of video playback, according to the brand.
The device also debuts a set of triple rear cameras, being a 108MP main sensor, an ultrawide lens with a 16MP sensor, and a 64MP night vision camera.
In addition, the smartphone still has a side shortcut button, which allows consumers to customize the quick access function to activate the flashlight, emergency call or camera mode.
Other device specs include a 6.8-inch screen with Full HD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Helio G99 processor with 4G and Bluetooth 5.3, Android 13, and 12GB RAM memory with 256GB internal storage (expandable via micro SD).
The smartphone has dimensions of 179.3 mm in height by 85.9 mm in width and 23.5 mm in thickness, as well as weighing 530 grams. That is, it’s not quite as compact or light as you’d expect from a product with its purpose.
