Starting in 2020, Netflix subscribers follow the adventures of Devi Vishwakumar (Maitrey Ramakrishnan), an Indian-American high school student who has one goal in mind when starting a new cycle of learning: to experience every possible experience. And it is clear that in 3 years it has grown well. He’s no longer a high school psycho who witnessed his father’s death and is trying to get over it. Our hero has since met a high school hunk (Paxton), slept with his former best enemy (Ben), and tried many firsts.
In this season 4, which is the last, our national Devi and her friends start their last year in high school. And who says the final year, says the university. A young woman has only one thing in mind: Princeton. Only one student is admitted to the prestigious school, so the competition is fierce. So when he finds out that Fabiola has applied too, his world comes crashing down.
But Dave has other things to worry about after being rejected by Ben, who she slept with last summer. In the meantime, the latter went to another girl. But our model student is also attracted to the high school’s new bad boy, Ethan (Michael Cimino). They start dating, but Dev realizes how bad of an influence she is having on him. Along with this, Paxton decides to drop out of college because he doesn’t feel right there and return to high school to become an assistant swimming coach.
What does the future hold for Devi and her friends?
Fabiola manages to return to Princeton early, much to the despair of Davy, who is waiting. But both friends remain on good terms despite everything. This statement annoys him so much that he does not attend the prom. He is joined at home by Ben, with whom he is still on good terms, who advises him to write an essay about his relationship with his father. This is a success, because she was finally transferred to the university of her dreams (Fabiola went to another course). As for Ben, he was accepted at Columbia.
Eleanor decides to graduate a year early and pursue acting without going to college after failing her Juilliard audition. He is supported by Trent who works with him. As for Paxton, he approaches a high school teacher…
In the last episode, everyone gathers at Devi’s grandmother Nirmala’s wedding. This event celebrates three of our best friends who will study/work in four corners of the country. Our hero is then joined by Ben, who admits he still loves her and realizes it’s mutual.
Our two former enemies, now lovers, decide to try a long-distance relationship, and the series ends with an image of them in Dave’s room at Princeton. All’s well that ends well.
