Continuation of the classic Top Gun – Indomitable Aces (1986), Top Gun: Maverick arrived in Brazilian cinemas on May 26, 2022. However, even with the return of original actors, such as Tom Cruise (Maverick) and Val Kilmer (ice), Kelly McGillisinterpreter of Charlie Blackwood in the original, did not reprise the role.
In 2019, Entertainment Tonight asked the actress if those responsible for Top Gun: Maverick invited her to participate in the film. “Oh my God no. They didn’t, never would,” she stated. “I mean, I’m old and fat, and I look age-appropriate, and that’s not what this whole scene is about.”

In indomitable aces, Charlie Blackwood was an astrophysicist and instructor at the training school – and love interest of the character of Tom Cruise. In sequence, Jennifer Connelly plays the protagonist’s new love interest, Penny Benjamin.
