In Godzilla vs Kong, which airs tonight on TF1 and takes place five years after the duel between Godzilla and King Ghidorah (in Godzilla 2 – King of the Monsters), two of monster’s most famous titans finally meet.
Even if we have already seen their fight in the original Japanese film directed by Ishiro Honda in 1962, their duel in the new Godzilla saga (rebooted by Warner from 2014) has been expected for several years. But before you watch them on your TV screen, do you know exactly how tall (and how heavy) these two famous movie giants are?
To get this information, you will have to carefully watch the opening credits of the feature film and check each piece of data that appears on the screen. Indeed, if you press pause at 5 minutes and 39 seconds, you’ll discover Godzilla’s physical characteristics. Eleven seconds later, at 5 minutes and 50 seconds, it’s King Kong’s turn to reveal himself in detail.
According to the footage we were secretly told, we can find that Godzilla (or Titanus Gojira) measures 393 feet, or about 119 meters (11 more than in the 2014 film). As for its weight, the giant lizard weighs 164 tons.

In the case of Kong (who is nicknamed Titanus Kong), it is the number “104” that refers to his height. We can assume it’s meters and not feet, given the small height difference between the two monsters on screen (which seems to be confirmed by data from fan sites). The giant monkey also weighs 158 tons.
To summarize, according to this few information, Godzilla is 15 meters taller than Kong and weighs 6 tons more than him.
In anticipation of the film’s launch on TF1 tonight (re)discover the ins and outs of the saga…
