“Idol Just gave us the worst sex scene ever” states GQ magazine in an article published after episode 2 aired. Available June 12th, the second installment in the series co-created by Sam Levinson (Euphoria) and singer The Weeknd. Reason ? Nasty and embarrassing sex scene.
Viewers are worried not so much about the sexual nature of this series, but about the complete lack of taste. “Everything about sex on The Idol, even in the most provocative scenes, is tantamount to your brother’s friend wanting to impress you with his ass knowledge.” – writes British journalist Lucy Ford.
Another problem is also the side of The Weeknd and his acting. The Canadian star plays Tedros, a nightclub owner who controls pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp). He does not seduce the apprentice actor on the screen, on the contrary. “Tedros emerges from his slouched perch with the energy and sex appeal of a fish-going Gollum,” says the unfiltered GQ article.
On social networks and mainly on Twitter, the translator of Blinding Lights and Starboy is not immune to ridicule:

“I haven’t watched The Weeknd since The Idol.”
Wait, Idol is so good when they focus on Jocelyn’s life, until she came along on Funny Week and ruined the show with oversexed Wattpad dialogue pic.twitter.com/pirFgQ0vba

“Wait, The Idol is really good when the show focuses on Joseline’s life, until that nerdy The Weeknd comes along and ruins the show with oversexed dialogue worthy of WatPadd.“
When The Weekend talks about his “fat tongue,” the charisma of someone who just had a lobotomy, during the sex scene on the second episode of The Idol; A staggering level of horror.
It’s so bad that his love songs suddenly sound really bad

“When The Weeknd speaks with his “fat tongue,” with the charisma of someone who just had a lobotomy, during the sex scene in episode 2 of The Idol; It rarely reached the level of terror. So bad that his love songs immediately turn bad.”
There isn’t one sexy thing about The Weeknd. Sex scenes should be kept to a minimum #Teidol pic.twitter.com/o8o94p0wj3

#Teidol It’s fine when it’s just focused on Jocelyn’s life and destruction. The last 20 minutes actually left me traumatized by the horrible acting of the weekend. Will never forgive Sam Levinson for adding this weird crap and ruining the show 🤢 pic.twitter.com/dKXvSPlGfq

“Idol is good when I look at Jocelyn’s life and depression. The last 20 minutes left me traumatized by The Weeknd’s awkward performance. I will never forgive Sam Levinson for adding this weird crap and ruining the show.”
This second episode got complicated # idol.
Between involuntary attachment and justified infatuation.
Everything around Jose is really successful, but once we get to The Weeknd, things get a lot shallower and dumber.
After that it’s great.
