The week’s launches on HBO Max weren’t very exciting, but titles worth focusing on are The Idol and El Hijo Zurdo
The third week of June didn’t bring any good news for HBO Max subscribers. With tepid previews, the streaming news slate has multiple weekly episode releases of already well-known series, such as gotham AND superman and loisof unreleased titles.
Despite this, there are some productions worth keeping an eye on. One of them is the series racism in football, which chronicles the rise of black footballers in Britain. The production has two episodes so far and is presented by Ian Wright, a former striker who gained worldwide recognition when he was at London club Arsenal.
Through testimonies and archival images, the series shows how racial discrimination is still so present in sport, and although we are talking about a situation that took place in another country, it brings a reflection on what is happening in Brazil as well.
Changing the subject a bit, the series Naked. Strong. Proud is the ideal option to celebrate the pride month. With just five episodes, the production shows Polish drag queen activists fighting for equality and acceptance.
For those who like to watch award-winning works, the series El Hijo Zurdo (O Filho Lefty) won Best Short Film Series at the Cannes Film Festival and is a Top Drama Choice on HBO Max.
